Veteran faculty speaker Dale Proctor, Coordinator of Corporate Paralegals at Kirkpatrick & Lockhart Preston Gates Ellis, provided participants with an enlightening session entitled, "Corporations: 10 Things Every Paralegal Should Know," on August 7, 2007. Her talk ranged from corporate maintenance issues to those involving crafting resolutions, due diligence, UCC filings, corporate transactions, securities regulations, and Blue Sky laws. Ms. Proctor nuanced her presentation with a list of important reference sites. The overview highlighted the essence of what it means to be a paralegal, suggesting that the things we all need to know extend beyond the corporate niche, and include a mastery of subject matter regardless of one’s specialty.
