A steady spring rain did not dampen the enthusiasm of nearly 50 paralegal managers who attended the International Paralegal Management Association (IPMA) Skills for New Managers Seminar held at the Westin Embassy Row Hotel in Washington, DC on April 22 & 23. The seminar, which drew managers from law firms and corporations as far away as Burbank, California, covered a range of topics from Recruitment and Retention to Preparing a Budget. The sessions, presented by seasoned paralegal managers, were lively and interactive and were peppered with real-life examples of the particular challenges faced by supervisors in a legal environment. Legal Assets, an agency specializing in placing attorneys, law clerks and paralegals in temporary and permanent positions, presents regular training sessions for its clients as part of its BreakfastClub Training Series, and was delighted to be a sponsor of IPMA's latest successful training effort.
